Honest guide
Are soulmate sketches real?
A soulmate sketch is real artwork. Whether it shows your real future partner is something no one can prove. Here is how they work, what is a scam and how to try one safely.
The short answer
Soulmate sketches are real drawings: some are drawn by hand by psychic artists, others are generated by apps like Venusly from your birth chart and answers. What is not real is any proof that the face belongs to a person you will meet. There is no scientific evidence that a psychic or an algorithm can draw a future partner. The honest way to enjoy one is the way you would enjoy a horoscope: as entertainment and reflection.
How soulmate sketches are made
| Type | How it works | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Psychic sketch | You answer a questionnaire (name, birth date, preferences); an artist who calls themselves psychic draws a face. | A pencil or digital drawing, often with a short reading, delivered by email. |
| AI app | An app asks quiz questions and an image model draws a portrait. | An instant portrait, usually behind a subscription or credits. |
| Astrology-based app | Your birth chart (Venus, the seventh house, the Moon) shapes the description that the portrait is drawn from. | A portrait plus a reading tied to your chart. This is how Venusly works. |
Is a soulmate sketch a scam?
The product itself is usually delivered: you do get a drawing. Complaints tend to be about how it is sold, not about the art. These are the patterns people report most often in public reviews of soulmate sketch sellers and apps:
- A “free” offer that needs a card, followed by a subscription you did not notice.
- Recurring charges for a sketch you thought was a one-time purchase, and no clear way to cancel.
- Celebrity “endorsement” ads. Ads that claim a famous person found love through a soulmate drawing are almost always fake. If a celebrity’s name appears in the ad, treat it as a red flag.
- Upsells after payment: a second reading, a “full” drawing, a name reveal, each sold separately.
- The wrong face: a woman drawn when you asked for a man, or an image that turns up elsewhere online.
How to check a soulmate sketch service before you pay
- Find the real price and whether it renews. On Android and iPhone the store shows the price and renewal terms before you confirm; on websites, read the checkout page carefully.
- Find how to cancel before you buy. If you cannot find it, do not buy.
- Read the one-star reviews on Google Play, the App Store or Trustpilot. They tell you how a company behaves when something goes wrong.
- Check who runs it: a company name, an address, a support email.
- Prefer store billing: Google Play and the App Store let you cancel and request refunds in one place.

Why does my sketch look like someone I know?
Because faces are easy to match. A softly drawn face with average proportions resembles many people, and once we see a drawing our minds go looking for it: in a coworker, a celebrity, a stranger on the train. Psychologists call this kind of effect confirmation bias. It is part of the fun, but it is not evidence.
How Venusly approaches it
Venusly draws its portraits from your birth chart and quiz answers, shows the price in Google Play before anything is charged, bills through Google Play so you can cancel there, and says plainly that the result is for entertainment. You can try the idea free first with the soulmate look quiz and the soulmate by birthdate calculator.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do soulmate sketches come true?
There is no evidence that they do. Some people report meeting someone who resembles their sketch, but a soft, average face resembles many people. Enjoy the sketch as a creative reflection, not a prediction.
Are psychic soulmate drawings legit?
You usually receive the drawing you paid for, so in that sense the product is real. The psychic claim cannot be verified. Check the price, renewal terms and cancellation before paying.
Why did I get charged again for a soulmate sketch?
Many services sell sketches with a subscription or trial that renews automatically. Check Google Play, the App Store, PayPal or your bank statement to find it, then cancel there. Step-by-step guide.
Is there a real soulmate sketch for free?
A full drawing made for you is almost never free. Free quizzes and calculators can describe your soulmate in words. What is really free.
